Project Details
Dallas’ luxury home enclave, Preston Hollow, is home to many movers and shakers in Dallas including a former US President and First Lady. These home buyers are looking for tree-lined oversized lots with a walkable suburban feel yet close proximity to the top private schools and convenient shopping and entertainment. They find that as well as amazing architecture over several decades.
We enjoy being a part of remodeling projects such as this one to maintain the history and architectural diversity of the neighborhood.
The Team
Kegan Wilson, eggersmann Dallas designer, collaborated with the homeowner and her general contractor, Stephen Goniweicha of New Start Remodeling Services, Inc.
During this project, use of the much-admired Buster & Punch hardware resulted in a collaboration between the company and eggersmann. Learn more about Buster & Punch and the LA event held to celebrate the start of a grand relationship.
The Ask
The homeowner sought a sophisticated, elegant design with practical function. A unique, one-of-a-kind never-seen-before design was the goal. She made it easy for the eggersmann Dallas team to meet those expectations as she gravitated towards our more unique finishes and concepts. Our client had employed her impeccable design sense to compose the beautiful home built 2 years before. But she had never grown to enjoy the kitchen or bar and was eager to replace the cabinetry. She gave designer Kegan carte blanche for the aesthetic, functional, and architectural design of the kitchen and bar.
The “before” pictures of the kitchen and previous bar illustrate room layouts that were not well-planned. Functionality was lacking and, most importantly, the more traditional style did not fit the modern home.
The Solutions
Kitchen
The New Kitchen
The new modern kitchen mixes neutral greys and exotic Macassar wood veneers with the warm white glow of natural Calacatta marble. The brass metal and lacquered accents, hand-crafted stove, custom hood, and light fixtures lend an architecturally interesting appeal.
The double island design offers ample storage, food prep and serving areas, and dining space. The zoned wine fridge and expansive counter space create a party central kitchen for homeowners who love to entertain.

Bar
The New Bar
The new bar followed a layout similar to the previous bar, but the new eggersmann wall cabinets stretched from floor to ceiling to maximize storage and deliver a thoroughly modern aesthetic. Plus, it provided a larger canvas to showcase the grain-matched striations of the veneer’s blonde to copper colors.
The warm tones of the wood and brass metal accents were juxtaposed with a cooler pewter gray Schmalenbach Eco-leather padded built-in as a smooth transition into the client’s existing blue plastered walls. The built-in features custom brass aluminum edge-banded LED-lit display niches.
