At the heart of Casa Lotus, the kitchen reflects the same philosophy as the architecture itself: thoughtful, tactile, and deeply intentional.
Set along the Colorado River in Austin, Casa Lotus was conceived during a period of personal recovery—shaping a home rooted in healing, reflection, and transformation. Designed as a sequence of light-filled, interconnected spaces, the architecture embraces materiality and movement, creating an environment that feels both grounding and immersive. Art and design are fully integrated, reinforcing the idea of the home as a livable gallery.
Working in close collaboration with designer Gonzalo Bueno from Ten Plus Three, the eggersmann New York team approached the kitchen as an extension of this larger vision. Known for his refined, deeply layered interiors, Bueno’s philosophy aligned seamlessly with eggersmann’s commitment to precision, material integrity, and restraint.
The kitchen is intentionally understated, composed of clean, architectural forms that read as part of the structure rather than standalone elements. Monolithic surfaces, integrated storage, and concealed appliances preserve visual clarity, allowing natural light and surrounding materials to take focus. At the same time, functionality is seamlessly embedded within the design, supporting everyday rituals without disrupting the spatial flow. Material continuity ties the kitchen to the broader palette of the home, creating a cohesive and quietly elevated experience.
In a project defined by meaning and intention, the kitchen becomes more than a place to cook. It is a considered part of the architecture, designed to support how the home is lived, felt, and experienced.
