Project Details
The Summit Club in Las Vegas is an ultra-luxury residential community of Summerlin, Nevada, between the stunning, juxtaposed views of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Las Vegas Strip. The exclusive gated community’s 555 acres is home to stunning desert landscape, unique wellness and recreation programs, and a unique Tom Fazio-designed golf course that features a few tees with exquisite views overlooking the Strip. It is no surprise that this enclave of 260 residences draws the famous and successful such as Celine Dion, Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, Bill Foley, owner of the Vegas Golden Knights, and high-tech entrepreneurs.
From multi-million dollar modern mansions to bespoke bungalows and even gracious luxury suites above the Summit Club’s clubhouse, there are many versions of living in luxury. Our team was thrilled to be invited to design a kitchen for a new home in this incredible picturesque location.

The Ask
With somewhat of an inauspicious beginning on James’ first day working in our showroom, the client came in and with a very direct, yet affable, tone declared she was looking for a “superstar designer”. Then she inquired of James if he was it. Momentarily taken aback, he remained undaunted and began right away exploring the prospective client’s preferences and desires.
The client has an interior design background, so she confidently and competently directed the layout as she envisioned it. The very minimalistic design was a departure from the Tuscan villa they were leaving so perhaps trying to marry warmth with the modernism made finish selection the challenge it proved to be. The selections from eggersmann are very diverse which can add almost too many options for some clients, but this client definitely had the eye to know it when she saw it.
Quite by chance, the client returned for the initial design and quote presentation when eggersmann USA owners and New York showroom management, Michael and Sandra Soltoff, were in the LA showroom. The client and the Soltoffs enjoyed their chat, so much so that the next time the client was in New York and still hunting for the perfect finishes for her dream kitchen, she dropped in at the eggersmann NY showroom.
She and Michael continued their chat about finishes for designing her kitchen in the desert. Michael, ever the designer, had a hunch so he revealed a prototype hidden in his desk drawer. The metal-framed cabinet front prototype was an instant hit with the client and soon Michael and James had approval from the factory to begin production on what would become the Manhattan range of cabinetry fronts.

The Solutions
In a serendipitous moment, the stage was set for metal-framed doors to take center stage in this new kitchen design. Flush chrome cabinet door frames encased aluminum, bronze, and white tones gave homage to the earthy hues of the sand, rock, and sun surrounding the home.
The resulting modern kitchen has a monochrome aesthetic yet is incredibly warm.
The homeowner had impeccable taste even choosing to custom finish the interiors of the cabinetry in a warm wood veneer.
