Houston Uptown’s Tanglewood area is minutes from the 155-acre urban nature sanctuary at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center and world class dining and shopping. In 1949, William Farrington, began developing the enclave naming it after Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Tanglewood Tales for Boys and Girls, the favorite of his daughter, Mary Catherine.
