The motionV concept was borne out of a successful partnership between eggersmann and another German company, Hawa Sliding Solutions. The slide is whisper quiet due to rollers comprised of high-performance plastic and precision ball bearings. The door slide and soft-closing hardware in motionV was originally produced to soft-close heavy doors safely using exceptionally quiet and smooth glides and a unique integrated magnet system to close the door gently. The ingenious magnetic opening and closing system silently brakes and pulls closed the door ensuring the required opening force is a maximum of 5 pounds (22 N). This level of force is deemed to be appropriate for differently abled people per industry building standards including ADA, ICC A117.1, and NFPA 80.
