Holistic Design for Wellness

In the living room, minimalist cabinetry and integrated media storage create a serene, clutter-free environment that encourages relaxation and mental clarity. In offices, ergonomic solutions and efficient organization systems enhance focus, productivity, and comfort. Closets are customized for easy access and streamlined storage, simplifying daily routines and promoting a sense of order. With these thoughtful designs and innovative solutions, every space transforms into a wellness-centric haven, helping homeowners feel more balanced and at ease in their daily lives.

Indoor-Outdoor Harmony

Connecting indoor and outdoor spaces create a harmonious home environment. Our expansive line of luxury cabinetry enables homeowners to seamlessly blend the indoor living areas with outdoor kitchens and entertainment spaces.

Outdoor kitchens and lounge areas are equipped with the same high-end features and functionality as indoor spaces promoting outdoor cooking, dining, and relaxation. Whether enjoying fresh air while preparing a meal or hosting friends in an open-air dining area, these spaces encourage time spent in nature boosting mental and physical health.

This synergy between indoor and outdoor living enhances wellness by promoting a more active, social, and connected lifestyle.

Sustainability as Self-Care

Sustainability plays a vital role in creating a healthier home and a better world. Our collections use eco-conscious materials and energy-efficient technologies to design spaces that promote long-term well-being. By choosing sustainable materials like reclaimed wood, eco-friendly finishes, and energy-saving appliances, eggersmann design solutions contribute to healthier indoor air quality, reduce waste, and decrease environmental footprint.

Home environments designed with sustainability in mind feel cleaner, fresher, and more aligned with personal wellness values. Sustainability is integrated into every aspect of eggersmann’s manufacturing and designs reinforcing the idea that caring for the environment is also a form of self-care.

Interview with Expert in Wellness-Focused Design

laura britt, principal of britt design group

Laura melds her knowledge gained from her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and Master of Architecture Degree with an emphasis on sustainability with decades of diverse design experience and her life-long appreciation of art to bring home living solutions that delight. She even founded a sustainable American-made furniture company before “green” was a frequent interior design concept.

eggersmann: What role does design play in promoting mental well-being, and how can a space that integrates sustainable materials enhance that experience?

Laura: Design contributes enormously to overall mental well-being as it directly influences how we feel in the spaces we inhabit. When a space feels like a true extension of oneself…meeting both aesthetic and functional needs…it fosters happiness and sense of balance. Sustainable design materials further elevate this experience by creating healthier, more nurturing environments. When integrating elements that are free of harmful toxins, such as low-emitting cabinet materials or (fire retardant-free) furniture, individuals can live with a peace of mind that their space is safe. This security promotes a thriving and happy feeling of wellbeing.

eggersmann: Can you speak to the importance of creating spaces that support a holistic approach to wellness, combining both functionality and environmental consciousness?

Laura: A holistic approach is essential to thoughtful design, as it promotes the wellness of homeowners and their guests by balancing aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility. Intentional practices, such as sourcing low-emitting materials, create living environments that are both highly functional and environmentally conscious, allowing spaces to thrive while minimizing their ecological footprint.

eggersmann: How does eggersmann USA’s focus on sustainable materials and seamless indoor/outdoor living align with your philosophy of creating wellness-centered spaces?

Laura: Wellness-centered spaces are at the heart of our design philosophy, and we are dedicated to sourcing environmentally responsible, safe materials that minimize exposure to harmful elements. Our goal is to create innovative, inspiring, and functional interior environments that prioritize health and sustainability. eggersmann’s focus on sustainable materials, such as responsible forestry practices, and their commitment to maintaining healthy air quality by reducing exposure to toxic contaminants aligns perfectly with our holistic approach to wellness in design.

eggersmann: What are your recommended sustainable design practices for homeowners looking to create healthier and more eco-friendly living environments?

Laura: Intentional, research-backed design is the best practice for creating living environments that are safe and eco-friendly. Understanding and managing airborne particles and their significant impact on human health, lowering and, ideally, eliminating toxins of all kinds, and maintaining a good level of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) are all key design practices homeowners can use. Specifically, homeowners can incorporate natural materials and furnishings that are free of formaldehyde and fire retardants, and pay close attention to adhesives and finishes. To that end, trusting a designer that prioritizes your well-being ensures that every choice supports a healthier, sustainable space.
