The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification system provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry. Established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide. The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value. Eggersmann, upon completing the required proof of its “environmental manufacturing techniques” has been awarded by FSC the following certification: FSC Chain of Custody standard: FSC-STD-40-004, v. 2.0 FSC CoC Controlled Wood standard: FSC-STD-40-005, v. 2.1 for its activities concerning: Purchasing of wood, engineered wood, and pre-fabricated parts (FSC pure, FSC mixed, FSC controlled), manufacture and distribution of modular kitchens and project furnishing (FSC mixed). FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests, and is an international association represented in more than 50 countries around the world. It’s members consist of a diverse group of representatives from environmental and social groups, the timber trade and the forestry profession, indigenous people’s organizations, responsible corporations, community forestry groups and forest product certification organizations from around the world.
