Designed by Yabu Pushelberg (YP) in collaboration with eggersmann, the nami kitchen island is an architectural sculpture that challenges conventional kitchen design. Named after the Japanese word for “wave” and “beautiful,” nami features soft, asymmetrical lines rising from a solid base, echoing the kanji symbol for wave.
This cantilevered island, engineered with precision and artistry, brings a sense of flow and lightness to the kitchen.
Complementing the fluid silhouette of the nami island is the OSAKA cabinetry, an elegant door style distinguished by its delicate vertical wooden slats. Also designed by Yabu Pushelberg, OSAKA reflects the same thoughtful Japanese influence, with a rhythm and texture that create quiet sophistication within the space.
Each slatted panel is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, inviting a tactile connection while adding depth and dimension to the cabinetry. The interplay of shadow and light between each wooden slat enhances the kitchen’s architectural language, making OSAKA wood veneer not just a finish, but a refined design experience.
Our Depot Murphy-style stowaway doors conceal appliances and storage, allowing nami to take visual focus. It’s an expression of natural movement, minimalist beauty, and functional innovation. This innovation enables you to create a robust, but invisible kitchen.
Together, nami and OSAKA embody a harmonious balance of sculptural form and subtle function, where every line, texture, and material choice has intention.
