Someone living in the suburbs may have a home gym, home office, backyard, and large kitchen and dining areas for entertainment. DFW Metro’s Unique Organizing Needs

In our sprawling Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area have two different architectural and design styles between Dallas and Fort Worth. Dallas leans more toward modern and contemporary designs as well as historic mansions. Fort Worth showcases a more traditional Texas feel with more casual vibes.

For our team, this makes every project a unique and fun adventure. We don’t have set styles that our clients choose from. Rather, we listen to our clients’ preferences and needs then match the style of their organizational solutions to their home. Our team uses creativity and attention to detail to create a continuous feel throughout the home. Our north central Texas area is seeing a boom in renovations and remodels of existing homes. We really enjoy working alongside designers and builders to help clients maximize their spaces with storage solutions as they plan their home upgrades and then move into their freshly envisioned spaces. West Coast’s Unique Organizing Needs

Los Angeles has not only a variety of build styles, but because the city is so spread out, as organizers, we have the opportunity to work in different environments and spaces often. I love this because not one client or project is ever the same.

A lot of people who live in LA are in the entertainment industry, so there is a lot of travel and bi-coastal living that we need to cater to. This usually means we do not have to do seasonal switches too often, like our clients who live in areas full-time with four seasons, because most people need clothing of all seasons at their fingertips. That means we have to get creative on how to store things so the client can have access to their items year round.

Special Organizing Features

I’ve been asked several times to include an area to store a commercial-size clothing steamer. You’d be surprised how often this is requested in our region. I love this because a large steamer is such a useful item to own, but definitely takes up a lot of space. Plus, no one wants to see one sitting center stage in a beautiful custom closet, so including a custom cupboard to store this bulky item does make a huge difference!

Another frequent request is to have an archival clothing closet or section to hang items with significance and memories. Here we use special gloves, garment bags, and tags to archive clients designer and vintage pieces they want to keep. Having these items stored properly means the clothing will last for decades without falling apart. It extends the life of a piece of clothing when you use the right storage products in the right climate to protect them from light, humidity, heat, and pests.

Regional Challenges

Many of my West Coast clients turn extra bedrooms into closets or wardrobe spaces. People are veering away from a guest room or home office opting for custom storage. I do love this trend because the size of a bedroom is often quite larger than any existing closet space, so it’s a win win.

Having a styled closet space with room to store clothing and other collections is accessible to almost everyone, and I love this!

Organizing Trends

Eco-conscious Californians are moving away from plastic organizing products opting for sustainable and environmentally friendly products like wood, bamboo, and soft-sided bins from felt and cloth. There are so many great products out there to make this switch easy. I encourage my clients to consider that sometimes plastic is OK to use when dealing with liquid products or areas that get wet such as in the bathroom or by the kitchen sink.
