International Women’s Day Celebration

International Women’s Day Celebration

On March 8, 2024, our eggersmann Houston showroom had the privilege of participating in an inspiring event commemorating International Women’s Day, alongside the Decorative Center Houston and other design showrooms.

International Women’s Day (IWD) traces its origins back to the early 20th century, emerging from the labor and socialist movements in North America and Europe. The first National Women’s Day was observed in the United States in 1909, followed by the proposal for an International Women’s Day at the International Conference of Working Women in 1910. It was first celebrated internationally on March 19, 1911, focusing on demands for women’s rights and suffrage. Over time, March 8 became the established date for IWD, symbolizing women’s ongoing struggle for equality and celebrating their achievements worldwide.

During our celebration, we were honored to host Shannon Mann, the esteemed owner of Mann Design, as our keynote speaker. Shannon shared invaluable insights on the significance of Women Mentors & the Power of Peer Connection. Guests gathered in our home living space, captivated by Shannon’s perspectives and experiences, and left feeling inspired and empowered.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and contributed to making this event a success. Together, we continue to support and uplift women in their professional and personal endeavors, embodying the spirit of International Women’s Day.
